No. Diktator adds its own dictation layer: preprocessing before recognition, pause-aware segmentation, context handling, spoken formatting, and postprocessing after recognition. The goal is usable writing, not just raw speech-to-text output.

No. Installing Diktator does not start the trial. You can use the free version for as long as you like and start the 21-day trial yourself inside the app whenever you are ready.

After the trial, you can continue in Free mode with one model, without model selection and some advanced features.

No. With the included model, the free version has no limits on minutes, words, characters or sessions.

No. The 13 languages listed are the app’s interface languages. Dictation and translation support additional languages; availability and quality depend on the selected model and settings.

No. Dictated audio and recognized text are processed locally on your Mac. They are not sent online or shared with anyone unless you choose to send the resulting text somewhere yourself.

Choose a license for 1, 3, 12, 100 or 1000 simultaneously active devices. The same key uses one shared limit across macOS, Android, Linux and Windows as each edition becomes available. Deactivate an old device before using its place on another. Existing licenses retain their device limits; App Store purchases are separate.

Diktator is not specifically designed as a meeting recorder, but it can record and transcribe meetings.

Translate speech from the broad supported source-language catalog into a selected target language. Availability and quality depend on the language pair, model, and translation method. Local-model translation is experimental; review important results.

Try several models and keep the one that works best for your language pair. Different models can produce different results for the same source and target languages, especially with rare-language pairs.

Diktator's own model and the Apple Translation API used by this app both translate on your device. Apple uses separately downloaded language models. Apple may collect API usage and performance data, including Diktator's app identifier and the language pair, without the original or translated text.
