Open the DMG
Use the current Diktator DMG from the Download page. Do not run the app from inside the disk image.
Install
Install Diktator on your Mac.
Download the current signed DMG, drag Diktator to Applications, allow required permissions, and approve the local model download when the app asks.
Move to Applications
Drag Diktator into Applications and launch it from there.
Allow microphone
macOS asks before Diktator can record your voice.
Download model
The local AI model downloads only after explicit consent and remains on your Mac.
Use the hotkeys
Current defaults are Right Command for Dictation and Right Option for translation to the selected target language. The direct Mac line makes shortcuts configurable.
Clean uninstall included
Diktator includes a built-in clean uninstall utility in the DMG and app settings/menu when available.
